Haven Magazine | March Issue 2018

“Haven Magazine” featured me for their “Home” March 2018 edition. I not only made the cover with two of my children but was interviewed Anastasia White on art and why we should invest in original art. Cover art called “Summer Rain.”

Haven Magazine is a locally run publication that has a 25,000 print run that covers the Brisbane, Gold Coast and Byron Bay communities.

THE BLOCK

Ronnie and Georgia, contestants on Channel 9’s 2017 season of The Block, and renovation experts, chose “Confetti Rain” for their studio apartment of House 3, Elsternwick. The reveal was shown in week 11. Ronnie and Georgia styled the whole room based around this artwork.

ASCOT HOUSE

Extremely sophisticated Ascot House, Brisbane was architecturally designed by the legendary Shaun Lockyer and interior designed throughout by TD Creative Agency. I was commissioned to do a painting for the master bedroom, to hang above the bed. Working with samples and cuttings used in the bedroom, I created this piece from the “Waterfall” series.

THE BULLETIN – JAMES STREET MURAL

Working closely with illustrator and fellow artist Lee Murphy, we brought some art and colour into our local community. Commissioned by The Big B Arcade we created a logo for the arcade and painted a huge mural that now resides in James Street, Burleigh. We also exclusively used Resene Paints and entered their yearly “Best Mural” Australasian competition 2016 and came second place. Our story was covered on Page 6 of The Bulletin, Queensland.

QUEENSLAND HOMES

Michael and Carlene Duffy, founders of Cedar and Suede and ex-contestants from The Block 2014, feature a contemporary Gold Coast beach house makeover in “Queensland Homes” magazine. This dynamic duo is not only style gurus but are huge advocates of using local artists. They chose my artwork “Jungle Fever” for the entrance of this stunning Miami home. Kira and Kira supplied furniture and Natalie McComas was the photographer.

THE BULLETIN

The Bulletin ran a “behind the scenes” story on Michael and Carlene Duffy from Cedar and Suede and the Miami house they styled for the prestigious “Queensland Homes” magazine. How fantastic to see them personally carrying my art “Jungle Fever” and placing it in the main entrance of this stunning home.
